The World Ends With You in all it's glory. Seriously, you should go out and buy it right now. I haven't had this much fun with a portable game since Apollo Justice, which was way back in the beginning of the year. This game is a little different than most DS games you might be familiar with. Instead of controlling one screen, you are actually controlling two! TWEWY also carries with it the eccentricity of the Japanese culture which, unlike Apollo Justice, was not localized for the american release.
What's amazing is that this actually works. The controls aren't as hard to grasp as you might think. Not only that, but the story is really solid. Sure, the ending might not completely satisfy you, but I'm willing to give it a pass for the awesome ride all the way through.
It was the last game I played before the new year but certainly not the least.
